Current and retired Milton School District educators have been gathering winter garments all month for distribution next Wednesday, Oct. 30, at the Milton Public Library.
The teachers are part of a walking club that gets its steps in at Milton High, and they recognized a need in the community for winter gear for kids.
They kicked off their first-ever donation drive during the Milton Homecoming parade in late September, and donation bins are placed at Hometown Ace, the library, Piggly Wiggly and Milton schools.
Next Monday, Oct. 28, will be the last day to donate with distribution to follow on Wednesday.
Families in need can register online via QR codes that are posted on the public donation bins and in school buildings during parent-teacher conferences this week.
