A 27-year-old Illinois man charged in connection with a weekend shooting in Janesville is free on a signature bond.
Nicholas Russell made his initial appearance before Rock County Court Commissioner Jack Hoag Monday afternoon on charges of endangering safety by reckless use of a firearm and operating a firearm while intoxicated.
Janesville Police were dispatched to the 1300 block of Hamilton Avenue just after 1:00 Sunday morning on the report that two people were arguing and that one of them had shot off a gun.
Officers found Russell hiding in a wooded area and took him into custody without incident.
Russell is due back in Rock County Court for an adjourned initial appearance on October 22nd.
