An Illinois man is dead after a two-car highway crash south of Brodhead.  The Green County Sheriff’s Office says a car driven by a 23-year-old man from Lena, was traveling south on County T at about 2:00 p.m. Sunday. The driver missed the stop sign at Highway 81 and was hit by an SUV traveling west on that road.  First responders from Brodhead were first on the scene, where the man from Lena was pronounced dead.  The 47-year-old woman who was driving the SUV was taken to a hospital for treatment.  The sheriff’s office says the airbags were triggered in both vehicles and both drivers were wearing their seat belts.
