Members of the Beloit School Board will consider a set of district goals for the 2024-25 academic year.
One of the proposals up for discussion at Tuesday’s meeting calls for administrators to present a balanced budget to the board on or before Oct. 29.
Superintendent Dr. Willie Garrison and his cabinet added to the proposal, saying the district should come up with a timeline to facilitate the adoption of future preliminary budgets no later than June 30.
The district’s preliminary 2024-25 budget wasn’t approved until Aug. 20, and officials are still looking for ways to balance it.
Key upcoming steps in the budget process include reporting the recent pupil count taken on Sept. 20, state certification of equalization aid, and final reporting on charter and private school vouchers.
