23-year-old Rock County Jail inmate is accused of bringing in crack cocaine and trading it for a battery.

Makenza Tripp of Janesville appeared before Court Commissioner Jack Hoag this week on charges of possession with intent to distribute a controlled substance near a jail and possession of an illegal article.

33-year-old Desirae McCarty is charged with possession of cocaine near certain places for trading a battery for some of the crack Tripp is accused of sneaking into the jail. 29-year-old Brianna Bird is also charged with possession with intent to distribute for acting as a middle man.

Cash bond was set at $1000 for Tripp and $500 for McCarty. Bird was given a signature bond.
