Milton is poised to formally increase the maximum amount of its commercial façade grants.

Since 2013, the TIF-funded grants have been used to freshen up the fronts of buildings in the city’s TIF districts.

The max award amount has been $5,000 since the program’s inception, but recently the city had given awards exceeding that total. A measure to make $10,000 the maximum grant award will be in front of the city council at its meeting Tuesday.

The council will also consider two applications for façade grant funding, both submitted by Eric and Katie Stockman of Stockman Properties.

The Stockmans have been frequent users of façade grant funding. Their most recent applications are for $10,000 for 42 Merchant Row and $5,000 for 144 Merchant Row.

The first building, which houses upstairs apartments and Synergy Spas, will get large new windows and a new paint job; the second contains Paul Revere Pizza and the Milton Chamber of Commerce and is in line for new paint and a new awning.
