A Janesville teenager who’s accused of stabbing his brother in defense of his mother has his preliminary hearing in Rock County Court.
Tuesday morning Court Commissioner Jack Hoag found that enough evidence had been presented that a felony had probably been committed by 18-year-old Ryder Sanborn and bound him over for trial on charges of first-degree reckless injury and disorderly conduct.
According to the criminal complaint, the victim attacked his mother after she tried to prevent him from taking a laptop. Sanborn and his two juvenile brothers came to her defense, with Sanborn stabbing the victim twice in the chest.
Sanborn remains free on a $3,000 cash bond.
