A Beloit man makes his initial appearance in Rock County Court on charges of operating while intoxicated causing injury, knowingly operating a motor vehicle while suspended, and seven counts of first-degree recklessly endangering safety.

According to the criminal complaint, a family of seven was in the yard of a home on the 900 block of Vernon Avenue in Beloit just after 4:30 the afternoon of April 26th.

27-year-old Joshua Amundrud is accused of crashing his vehicle into the yard, striking one person. The victim suffered a broken leg. Six other people were lucky enough to flee the path of Amundrud’s oncoming vehicle.

Beloit Police say officers found empty vodka bottles and an empty beer can in Amundrud’s rolled SUV.

Last week, Rock County Court Commissioner Jack Hoag set Amundrud’s cash bond at $2,000.
