The Illinois Department of Transportation is warning motorists that Blackhawk Boulevard in South Beloit will be closed at the Union Pacific Railroad crossing beginning July 30th.

The closure will allow the railroad to remove and replace its at-grade crossing just south of Turtle Creek.

A detour will be marked directing traffic to Gardner Street, US Highway 51 and Broad Street in Beloit.

The work is anticipated to be completed by Sunday, August 4th.
