A 24-year-old Beloit man is accused of punching a 91-year-old man in the head following a fender bender.
According to the criminal complaint, the elderly victim was traveling northbound on Spruce Street the evening of July 14th when he swerved and hit a parked car while trying to avoid another car backing out of a driveway.
Witnesses reported that Zachariah Nuber – who was in the car that was backing out – jumped out of his vehicle and yelled at the victim before punching him in the face which caused him to fall down.
Nuber then fled the scene. Police later made contact with Nuber who claimed that he only yelled at the man and tried to prevent him from falling over.
Nuber is currently free on a signature bond on a single count of physical abuse of an elder person.
