There are elected officials in office right now that may have never stepped foot on a farm.

Rock County Farm Bureau Member Doug Rebout says an event this week will bring local farmers and politicians together to discuss the importance of agriculture in the region.

Rebout says they want to make sure that when elected officials are working on legislation and resolutions they have some background in agriculture.

Focus on Ag will take place at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at the Randy Hughes farm in Janesville.
