The Rock County Board is scrambling to spend close to $1 million in ARPA funding by the end of the year, or risk returning it.

County Finance Director Kristen Vander Kooi says the Finance Committee is recommending giving $600,000 to the victims of the February tornado, and $100,000 each to the Boys & Girls Club of Janesville, Community Health uninsured program, the YWCA Rock County Childcare Center, and KANDU Industries.

Rock County has $994,064 in ARPA dollars that need to be committed by December 31st.
