The city of Janesville, Rock County and the American Red Cross announce they’re hosting a second resource fair for people hit by the Janesville tornado last weekend.

The three groups plus about a dozen other state and county disaster relief agencies, held the first resource fair Tuesday. The groups are now announcing a second fair July 2.

Organizers say this week, volunteer crews and relief agencies are still largely tackling major tree damage from the tornado. That has left whole neighborhoods on the city’s south side strewn with limbs and whole trees.

The EF-2 tornado Saturday packed 115-mile-per-hour winds the city says caused about $20 million in damage to the south side.

A second resource fair will come as residents have had several days to take stock of damage to their property.

No registration is required to attend the resource fair. It is slated July 2 from 3 to 6:30 p.m. at the Dr. Daniel Hale Williams Resource Center at 1717 Center Avenue.
