Janesville police say a teenager wounded his girlfriend last week when he shot her in the shoulder as the two wrestled over a gun he was holding last week.
Micai Wortham and his girlfriend initially said an unknown, masked person had shot the girl in the shoulder.
After she was taken to the hospital, Micai Wortham admitted to police that he’d shot her.
Wortham was in possession of a gun, and his girlfriend tried to take it. As the two wrestled over the gun, Wortham said it misfired and hit his girlfriend in the shoulder and lower neck.
Wortham got a $5,000 cash bond for reckless endangerment. He faces a preliminary hearing in court June 24.
