Community Action’s Beloit Fresh Start program is funded for another year, although a planned homeless shelter project may have to wait a little longer.
The Rock County Board of Supervisors voted last week to take $750,000 in ARPA funding meant for a new Twin Oaks Shelter to use on Community Actions Fresh Start program instead.
Executive Director Marc Perry says Community Action recently learned it would not receive a federal Department of Labor grant which supports the program.
Perry says Twin Oaks Shelter is still operating, and they will continue to raise funds to support a replacement in the future.
