With a contract for the project awarded, new pickleball courts will be on the way to Janesville.

Parks Director Cullen Slapak says the project will see six new pickleball courts being added to Riverside Park near the already existing courts, giving the city a total of 12 courts.

Slapak says the built the first courts in 2018, and since then they’ve only seen the popularity of the sport grow with hundreds of pickleballers in the city, so they needed to accommodate for more players.

Slapak says anticipated completion of the new courts is sometime this fall.
