A 48-year-old Janesville man takes a plea deal in two different sexual assault cases.
Joseph Cole Thomas, who lists his address as the Motel 6 in Janesville was charged in Rock County Court last October with repeated sexual assault of a child after an eight-year-old reported that he had been molesting her for months.
In January Thomas was charged in Rock County Court with third-degree sexual assault after a co-worker at a Janesville hotel reported that she woke up to Thomas sexually assaulting her multiple times.
According to online court records Monday Thomas plead guilty to second-degree sexual assault of a child and a charge of intimidating a victim was dismissed but read into the record.
Judge Derrick Grubb also dismissed but read into the record the third-degree sexual assault charge.
Thomas faces up to 40 years in prison at sentencing on August 16th.
