A 20-year-old Janesville man is facing charges after police say he attempted to elude them during a chase on the city’s west side.  A news release reports a Janesville police officer attempted to stop the driver of a dirt bike, operating without a headlight, about 11:00 p.m. Friday.  Officers say the driver sped away and drove recklessly through the community.  Police say Braxton Whitfield was apprehended in the 1300 block of Mineral Point Avenue.  Whitfield was arrested on charges of Fleeing-Eluding officers and a Felony Probation Violation.  The news release adds Whitfield is currently on probation for Robbery with Use of Force and Operating a Vehicle Without Consent as a Passenger.
