Four new houses will be getting built in Beloit after a pair of local organizations are getting some funding from the city.

Community Development Director Julie Christensen says Community Action will receive $150,000 to build one home on Forest Avenue, while the Wisconsin Partnership for Housing Development is set to get $399,000 to build three homes around the city.

Christensen says both groups have committed to getting those projects started this year, and they’re excited about getting more affordable housing into the market for people to purchase.

The money comes from the Rock County HOME Consortium, and city still has about $400,000 in funds to allocate to add more affordable housing in the city.
