Beloit Police are making progress investigating a number of recent shootings.

Police Chief Andre Sayles an arrest has been made in connection with a shooting that injured a person Sunday afternoon, and officers are poised to arrest another person in connection with a shooting Tuesday that left a 16-year-old injured.

Sayles says there is a group of young people between 14 and 18 who are causing a lot of the problems in the City likely due to a lack of structure they have at home.

16-year-old Andre Rainey Jr was arrested in connection with a shooting April 5th that killed 20-year-old Jaiden Benitez of Janesville. Earlier this week 16-year-old Donterion Pierce was arrested, accused of shooting another teenager in the foot during a drive-by on April 10th.
