About eight percent of the City of Janesville’s 24,400 real estate parcels will change in value for the 2024 assessments.

City Assessor Michelle Laube (lobby) says notices were mailed to 2,043 property owners last week.

Since the City is providing a maintenance assessment roll, it will not account for changes in market conditions.

Laube says the Assessor’s Office can only recalculate market value appreciation or depreciation during a revaluation assessment roll which will likely next occur in 2027.

Laube says the change notices include information on the assessment and the dates and times of the Assessor’s Open Book sessions and Board of Review hearings.
