The Rock County Medical Examiner has identified 22-year-old Janesville woman Kiersten Hansen as the woman police say was shot to death by the father of her child last week.

Police said in court documents released Tuesday say that Kiersten Hansen went for a walk with 23-year-old Logan Barclay last Tuesday evening on the Fisher Creek portion of the Peace Trail when he shot her in the stomach with a .22-cal. handgun because he was upset that she may have been pregnant again.

The Rock County Medical Examiner’s Office says preliminary results of an autopsy confirm Hansen died from “homicidal firearm-related trauma.”

The medical examiner’s office has not released more details, including whether Hansen was, in fact, pregnant at the time of her death.

Barclay is currently being held in the Rock County Jail on a $1 million cash bond on a single charge of first degree intentional homicide with a domestic abuse enhancer.
