An hours long standoff with police in Albion ends after a man and woman have been found dead in a home.

The Dane County Sheriff’s Office says in a Facebook post they tried to stay in contact with an armed suspect inside the home on Ramsey Road.

Police say they used a robot to go inside the residence and found that man had died by suicide, but it’s currently unclear how the female died.

The incident led to the closure of all lanes of Highway 51 at Washington Road near Stoughton late Wednesday night, that stretch was re-opened at about 3am Thursday morning.

Authorities say more information on the investigation will be provided later Thursday.
