A 35 year old Janesville man has been sentenced to seven years in federal prison for possessing a firearm as a felon.

According to a release from the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Kyle Richards was sentenced Thursday will follow his seven year prison term with a 3 year term of supervised release.

The release says in May of 2023, officers with the Janesville PD executed a search warrant at Richard’s apartment in Janesville and found cocaine, drug scales, tools for cooking crack cocaine, and four firearms and ammunition.

Richards plead guilty to the firearm possession in charge on January 18th of this year.
