A Janesville man who is a previously convicted sex offender has been indicted for attempted sexual exploitation of a child.

According to a release from the U.S. Attorney’s Office, 40 year-old David Fuchs engaged in a conversation with an undercover law enforcement office from the Outagamie County Sheriff’s Office, who was posing as a 12 year old girl.

The release says during the conversation, Fuch’s repeatedly described his desire to have sex with the child, sending multiple explicit images of himself and requesting photos from the undercover officer.

The release says Fuchs planned to meet the girl at a travel plaza in Madison, and when he arrived on March 15th, he was placed under arrest by U.S. Marshals.

If convicted of the charges, Fuchs faces a mandatory minimum of 25 years in federal prison.
