United Way Blackhawk Region’s CEO is stepping down after a decade of service.

Mary Fanning-Penny says it’s bittersweet decision, but after careful consideration she decided it was time for a change, but will remain a champion of United Way’s mission and work.

Fanning-Penny says there’s a lot she’s proud of, but the organization’s ability to weather the storm through the pandemic and launching a COVID-19 action fund stand out as things she’s especially proud of.

Since Fanning Penny began her tenure, UWRB has invested more than $17.3 million in community grants and initiatives.
