The YMCA of Northern Rock County has been highlighting their Child and Adult Care Food Program during National CACFP week.

Food Program Coordinator Cortney Urbanek says the program gives financial reimbursement to child and adult care providers for serving nutritious meals and snacks to those in their care.

Urbanek says they’ve had the program for a few years now, and each year they’ve seen growth, last year having served almost 24,000 meals and already this year they’ve been able to serve 111 kids.

Across the country, the program provides over 1.8 billion meals and snacks daily to kids at care centers.
