The Welty Environmental Center is collaborating with the city of Beloit on a little trash education.

Executive Director Brenda Plakans says an upcoming lecture titled “Trash Talk: Where Does Your Garbage Go?” will allow people to learn how municipalities process their residents’ recycling, garbage, and food waste.

Plakans says people should know about the consequences around what they throw out, especially if they don’t dispose of items properly, and knowing the results of what you throw away can help you make smarter decisions about what you buy.

“Trash Talk: Where Does Your Garbage Go?” will be held March 24th from 2 to 3:30pm at the Welty Center.
