AWARE in Evansville’s annual Easter meal distribution has evolved over the years.

Program Manager Amy Floan says years ago they gave out boxes of food that included a ham.

That all changed during the pandemic when they couldn’t accept donations and switched to a gift card model.

Through March 18th, low-income families in the Evansville Community School District can register to receive a gift card to Piggly Wiggly to purchase everything they need for an Easter meal.

The distribution will take place on March 26th from 1:00 until 5:00 p.m. at the AWARE office in Evansville.
