A local community begins to pick up the pieces after Thursday night’s tornado.

American Red Cross Spokesperson Laura McGuire says they responded to Evansville last night to set up a warming shelter.

McGuire says they are currently looking for residents whose primary residence was either destroyed or substantially damaged.

Alliant Energy Spokesperson Tony Palese says over 1000 customers were without power last night.

Palese says as of this morning most of the customers who lost power have been restored.

The Rock County Sheriff’s Office says Highway 14 has been fully re-opened to traffic near Evansville, however some side roads remain closed due to debris and other hazards.

While all reports of injuries are minor, Rock County Administrator Josh Smith did declare and emergency Thursday night.
