Janesville’s city manager plans to give the annual ‘state of the city’ address this week. But his delivery will differ from how past city managers dished the yearly speech.
City Manager Kevin Lahner says he’s using a private breakfast event at a local country club Wednesday to kick off a series of quarterly talks he aims to deliver to local business leaders.
Lahner says he decided he should start with a ‘state of the city address.’
Under previous city managers, Janesville’s ‘state of the city’ address has been held in winter at City Hall, and it has been open for the general public to attend.
Wednesday’s breakfast is by invite only. Lahner says the ‘state of the city’ address will be broadcast on JATV and the city of Janesville’s YouTube channel. The event runs from 7:30 to 9 a.m. Wednesday.
