A new addition to the YMCA of Northern Rock County is aiming to mix learning and gaming.

CEO Angie Bolson says they launched their new e-sports lab last week and it’s geared towards academic support for the first hour while kids are there, and they can then earn time to play games afterwards.

Bolson says they wanted to create a safe and supervised way for kids to play games online, and kids will be able to play games such as Mario Kart, Fortnite, and Rocket League with kids from other YMCA’s across the state.
