The early catch and release inland trout season starts in Wisconsin this weekend.

DNR Fishery Supervisor David Rowe says anglers can target any of Wisconsin’s four inland trout species January 6th through May 3rd, but they must use artificial tackle only and caught trout need to be released immediately.

Rowe says Rock County has three classified trout streams: East Fork Raccoon Creek, which is the furthest south trout stream in the state and is located near Beloit and the other two are Spring and Allen Creeks located near Evansville.
