The Janesville Plan Commission grants one of a local hardware store’s two requests.

Janesville Building Director Jay Yunker says Lloyd’s True Value wants to install a seasonal greenhouse as well as a rental truck business.

City staff discovered over the summer that the business was already operating a rental truck business in their parking lot without the proper approval.

Monday night the Plan Commission unanimously approved a request for a conditional use permit amendment for the Penske Rental Truck business.

The seasonal greenhouse request did not move forward due to the fact that there is no where on the property that would meet fire code.

In April of last year Lloyd’s True Value received an amendment to their conditional use permit after their building was constructed with exterior materials that were not approved in the original plans that come before the Plan Commission in 2018.
