A local legislator has introduced a bill that would help small town law enforcement agencies.
45th Assembly District Representative Clinton Anderson of Beloit says the bill he’s introducing would create a pilot program providing grants to small law enforcement agencies that would cover labor and training costs associated with sending officers to the academy.
Anderson says the bill has seen bipartisan supports, and support from groups including the Wisconsin Chiefs of Police Association, Badger State Sheriff’s Association, and the Wisconsin Sheriffs and Deputy Sheriffs Association.
Anderson is introducing the bill alongside Republican Representative Bob Donovan of Greenfield and State Senators Jesse James and Brad Pfaff.
