The Beloit School District is getting the ball rolling when it comes to having conversations about a referendum on the 2024 spring ballot.
Superintendent Dr. Willie Garrison says they can no longer sit back and they need to address the district’s need for funding, and they’re going to come to the public and give them options and allow them to voice their opinion.
Garrison says their rainy day fund is project to be between $8 and $9 million, and in order to replenish the fund they need to go to a referendum so they can get it to an acceptable amount.
An in person listening session takes place Wednesday at the Kolak Education Center from 530 to 7pm, and a virtual session will be held Thursday also from 530 to 7pm.
