Two glass artists are building a 31-foot tall glass Christmas Tree on the grounds of the Yerkes Observatory in Williams Bay again this year.
Artist Rob Elliott says he and fellow artists Jason Mack are using a mobile glass furnace and clear and green glass that has been donated by members of the community.
Work on the World’s Tallest Glass Christmas tree will happen Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, December 1st-17th; culminating December 17th at sundown when it will be topped with a four-and-a-half foot tall blown glass star.
Elliott says when it’s finished, the installation will be 35-and-a-half-feet tall.
Visitors should park at Williams Bay High School where you can catch a free shuttle.
