The Janesville City Council considers conveying a tax-foreclosed three-bedroom house to ECHO.

Housing Services Director Kelly Bedessem says the City purchased the property at 419 South High Street last year for $27,000.

ECHO would be responsible for rehabilitating the property, which is in need of extensive repairs.

ECHO’s Transitional Living Program provides 12 to 18 months of case management and housing to qualified families who are either homeless or at risk of becoming homeless.

The Janesville City Council will vote to give the property to ECHO as part of their consent agenda during their regularly scheduled meeting Monday night.
