45th Assembly Representative Clinton Anderson of Beloit introduced a bill Thursday which would take a new approach to helping veterans deal with their post traumatic stress disorder.
Anderson says the bill would create a medicinal psilocybin treatment fund and a pilot program to study the effects of psilocybin treatment on patients with PTSD.
Anderson says he has a background in mental health and social work, and baseline research has shown that psilocybin has been very positive in addressing PTSD, and he encourages people to look up how the progress made using the approach.
Anderson introduced the bipartisan bill alongside Republican Senator Jesse James and Democratic Senator Dianne Hesselbein.
