The 25-year-old Janesville man accused of shooting another man, and firing at an officer who was attempting to apprehend him has his preliminary hearings in Rock County Court.

Tyrone Gibson is currently being held on a $1.5 million cash bond on two counts of attempted first degree intentional homicide, two counts of first degree recklessly endangering safety, two counts of possession of a firearm by a felon and one count of intentionally pointing a firearm at a person.

Gibson is accused of shooting a 21-year-old man on South Jackson Street last week before trying to shoot an officer who later spotted him and was trying to make an arrest.

Another man, 19-year-old Lawrence White was arrested in connection with a shooting in the Woodman’s parking lot that was said to be retaliatory for the Jackson Street shooting.

Friday morning Court Commissioner Mason Braunschweig found enough evidence had been presented to prove a felony had probably been committed by Gibson, and bound him over for trial.
