After months of crunching the numbers, the Janesville School District has adopted their 2023-2024 budget.
Chief Financial Officer Dan McCrae says taxpayers are always wondering what the budget will cost them, and the levy will be going up
$3.2 million, but milrates will be dropping from $7.41 to $7.05.
McCrae says the district also found out in recent weeks they’ll be able to take advantage of the full $11,000 in per pupil state aid this year, and the new money equates to about $9 million which they’ll use to pay off some debt and make some technology upgrades across the district.
The total budget for the 2023-2024 year is just north of $197 million.
