Janesville police are looking for a man police think robbed a convenience store while threatening store clerks he had a gun.

Police say there are no suspects identified and no arrests have come after police say a man walked into the Lions Quick Mart at 104 E. Racine St. near downtown and demanded merchandise, telling a story clerk he was armed with a gun about 8:35 Wednesday morning.

Janesville cops describe the man as white, and they say he was last seen wearing a gray puffy jacket over a black hoodie. His face and head were covered with a mask and stocking cap at the time.

Police say the man took off northwest of the store and was last seen running toward the Rock River.

As reported previously on Big Radio, a WCLO Radio News reporter on scene this morning says several patrol officers swarmed the convenience mart directly following the robbery. The reporter says police appeared to be searching neighboring yards and other areas surrounding the convenience mart.

Police ask anyone with information or an identity of the suspect to call Janesville police at 608-757-2244 or the Janesville Area Crime Stoppers at 608-758-3636.
