The Beloit School Board will put an operational referendum question on the April 2024 ballot after a Tuesday night vote.

Board Vice President Megan Miller supported the April date, saying it will give them enough time to provide enough transparency and information to members of the community so they can make an informed vote.

Board Member Aimee Leavy wanted to see the operational referendum on the November 2024 ball because she says because there would be a larger election turnout for the November election and that could be them over the top.

If the operational referendum were to fail in April, the district would have the opportunity to try again during the November 2024 election.
