Janesville Mobilizing for Change’s second annual Overdose Awareness Walk shifted to Riverside Park in Beloit for their second installment Thursday evening.

Director Xandi Finn says attendance was down a little bit compared to last year, but they’re already brainstorming on ways to increase attendance for next year’s event including more media outreach and possibly shifting when speakers talk.

Finn says they had over 18 service providers in attendance sharing information on substance misuse prevention, intervention, harm reduction, recovery support and treatment that is available in Rock County.

Finn says the evening also included a panel of speakers featuring families who have been impacted by addiction or overdoses, and someone currently living in recovery
