A roughly two month long rehabilitation project of one of Milton’s water towers is expected to wrap up pretty soon.

Public Works Director Mark Langer says 200,000 gallon tank will have some cosmetic changes along with some minor structural changes and will be completed by the third week of September.

Langer says the recommendation to complete the rehab of the water tower came after their most recent Water Storage Facility Inspection Report, which are required by the Department of Natural Resources every five years.

Langer says with proper maintenance, this tower could be expected to last for the next several decades.

The project, which costs just under $617,000, is being paid for by ARPA funds the city has received.
