As heat index temperatures are expected to get near 100 Tuesday and well into the 100s Wednesday the County is making the public aware of a number of cooling centers to help combat the temps.

In Beloit, people can cool off the at the Beloit Public Library during normal business hours or at the Beloit Transit Transfer Center between 5:30am and 6:00pm.

In Janesville, cooling centers are located at the Hedberg Public Library during business hours, Uptown Janesville between 10am and 7pm, or the Janesville Senior Center between 830am and 4pm.

The county reminds residents that residents are responsible for their own belongings, food, and water.

A heat advisory is in effect in Rock County from 11am until 9pm Tuesday.
