Rock County Authorities say a Beloit man accused of hiding a Beloit woman’s body in July says he knew she died after they did drugs together in July, but he drove around with her corpse in the back of his truck for at least another day before he hid the body in tall grass.

45-year-old Lawrence L. Parker, Junior, waived a preliminary hearing and pleaded not guilty to charges he hid the corpse of 37 year old Judy A. Sprigler in tall grass off Turtle Town Hall road in the Town of Turtle.

A Rock County criminal compliant says Sprigler was reported missing between July 12 and July 15, and her body was found by South Beloit Police on July 19.

According to court papers, Parker told authorities Sprigler and he had smoked a drug together, and that Sprigler went unconscious. Parker said he’d tried to revive Sprigler using mouth-to-mouth, but it didn’t work.

Parker said he then drove around for a day or two with Sprigler’s body in the bed of his pickup truck, covered with a tarp, before Parker dumped her corpse in tall weeds in an unused driveway.

Parker faces up to 12 and a half years in prison, plus fines, if he’s convicted. He remains in custody on a $25,000 bond.
