Additional state funding may not be on the way to the Beloit School District for the next few years.

Business Executive Director Bob Chady says according to a state statute, districts that have had a failed operational referendum during or after the 2018-19 school year are unable to use the additional revenue.

Chady says the district won’t see an additional $4 million annually in funding unless they either pass an operational referendum or wait until the 2026-2027 school year.

In the biennium budget that was signed by Governor Evers in June, the low revenue limits for most school districts in the states were increased to $11,000, an increase of $325 per pupil.
