After hearing from City of Beloit officials, The Rock County Sheriff’s office is putting a slow no wake restriction into place during Fourth of July Celebrations Tuesday.

Deputy Trevor Lund says because of the Pops on the Rock celebrations taking place Tuesday the slow no wake will run from 5pm to midnight from Preservation Park south to the Stateline.

Lund says things can get chaotic and sometimes dangerous on the river during these celebrations so the slow no wake is put into place just in case an accident does occur between two boats, it won’t be life threatening.

Lund says the Sheriff’s office boat patrol units will be out to enforce safety violations and the ordinance.
