A 57-year-old Janesville man facing half a dozen charges after being accused of physically assaulting his 85-year old mother appears in Rock County court.
Gregory Ferge appeared in front of Judge John Wood Thursday afternoon, where he plead guilty to charges of 1st degree reckless injury, false imprisonment, and strangulation and suffocation; all with crime against an elderly person modifiers.
Wood noted the seriousness of the crime and said he wanted the threat of a long prison sentence hanging over Ferge should he ever commit something like this again.
Ferge was ultimately sentenced to 12 years in jail and 14 total months of probation on the charges.
